This past weekend our team participated in the Walk ALS Triangle event in memory of beloved anchor Larry Stogner & in support of patients & familes facing this terrible disease. Raising awareness and funding bring hope for treatments and a cure.

Members of the ABC11 WTVD-TV team celebrated Durham Urban Ministries at the “Empty Bowls Elevated” fundraiser. DeJuan Hoggard was emcee & station attendees included Bervette Carree Monica Barnes Lenaé Frazier Michelle Young & Rob Elmore. Urban Ministries has been serving the hungry and unhoused for 40 years.

Members of the ABC11 WTVD-TV team partnered with the stations' WTVD Minority Advisory Committee to present "The Art of Storytelling: The New Generation of Content Creation" at North Carolina Central University in Durham this past weekend. Panels and break out workshops focused on presentation, videography and producing for media. Attendees were local high school and college students. It was a wonderful opportunity for the team to help develop the next generation of journalists.

ABC11 is a Service Partner for the Triangle Martin Luther King Jr. Committee & members of our team attended the 44th Annual Martin Luther King Inter-Faith Prayer Breakfast to commemorate #MLKDay. We shared the experience with volunteers from the Triangle MLK Jr. Committee. The Committee’s purpose is to serve others by spreading hope & healing on MLK Day and every day.
