I thoroughly enjoyed the Equilibrium “Secure by Design” conference sponsored by our partner, Security Compass in New York City today (https://lnkd.in/gu5ixfR2). The event kicked off with a fantastic keynote presentation by Dr. Ed Amoroso, Founder & CEO of TAG Infosphere, a thought-provoking AI presentation by Daniel Miessler (see https://lnkd.in/gY7sBQvb), a wonderful presentation by Alania Clark, DHS Assistant Director for Stakeholder Engagement and much more. Also, I’d like to thank you Rohit Sethi, Security Compass CEO for offering some sage “CEO-level” advice after the conference. It was a great experience overall!

This is the first piece of advice I offer to family, friends, and small-medium business clients... Are you currently using the same default privileged Windows account that you created when you first bought your laptop? If so, then just "stop, drop, and roll" right now... (Control Panel->User Accounts->Change account type)

From CISA: "Today, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) released its inaugural Vulnerability Disclosure Policy (VDP) Platform 2022 Annual Report, highlighting the service’s progress supporting vulnerability awareness and remediation across the Federal Civilian Executive Branch (FCEB). This report showcases how agencies have used the VDP Platform—launched in July 2021—to safeguard the FCEB and support risk reduction. The VDP platform gives federal agencies a single, user-friendly interface to intake vulnerability information and to collaborate with the public researcher community for vulnerability awareness and remediation." https://lnkd.in/gq_Gtgmb

This report from Gartner really resonates with me. Any good cybersecurity program will incorporate continuous and rapid feedback, and that's what the Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) is all about. https://lnkd.in/gVeMeR2M
